Most Makkah live streams stop at the video. This one adds what matters while you watch: today's Makkah prayer times in Saudi time, with a live countdown to the next adhan, right under the player. You also get a backup source if the primary stream ever drops, so a single connection issue doesn't cut you off mid-prayer.
Start Watching Now →Masjid al-Haram surrounds the Kaaba in the centre of Makkah and is the direction every Muslim faces in prayer, wherever they are in the world. Unlike most mosques, it's never really empty: pilgrims circle the Kaaba in tawaf at nearly any hour, and the courtyard fills further around each of the five daily prayers.
Inside its grounds are the Well of Zamzam, drawn on for over a thousand years, and the Sa'i path between Safa and Marwa, where pilgrims walk the route Hajar once ran searching for water for her son. The mosque you see on screen today has been rebuilt and expanded many times over the centuries; the current structure holds well over a million worshippers during Ramadan and Hajj.
The feed is the official broadcast of Saudi Quran TV, the Saudi Broadcasting Authority's channel for Masjid al-Haram. It runs in HD, continuously, and carries the same signal used for satellite viewers across Saudi Arabia. Backup sources are available right under the player if the primary feed ever drops.
There's no closed hour, but the feel of the courtyard changes across the day. It's quietest in the last third of the night before Fajr, fills sharply around each prayer call, and during Ramadan the tawaf can slow to a crawl once the crowd thickens after Isha. If you specifically want the Friday khutbah, tune in shortly before Dhuhr, Makkah time.
The card under the player shows today's Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha for Makkah, calculated with the official Umm al-Qura method in Saudi time (UTC+3), with a live countdown to the next adhan. The full monthly schedule is on our Makkah prayer times page.
See Full Prayer Schedule →Yes, the player above is streaming live right now. It shows the Kaaba and the mosque courtyard in HD, and the feed doesn't stop, day or night, prayer or no prayer.

It is. The camera stays on Masjid al-Haram through the night, through all five prayers, through the Friday sermon, and through Taraweeh in Ramadan. There's no scheduled downtime.
Circling the Kaaba stops only for the few minutes each prayer takes, then picks back up. During Ramadan and Hajj, the crowd around it is far larger than the rest of the year.
It's called the Kiswah, made of black silk with verses stitched in gold and silver thread. A new one goes up each year on the Day of Arafah, the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah.
Check the strip at the top of this page. It updates daily and counts down to whichever prayer is next.
Tap Stream 1 or Stream 2 above the player. If one feed drops, the other usually still works.
