Makkah Live doesn't require an account, a login, or any personal information to use. Almost everything on this site, including the live streams, prayer times, and Qibla finder, runs directly in your browser. This policy explains what little data is used and why.
Prayer times on this site are shown for Makkah and Madinah in Saudi time, so they never need your location. Only the Qibla finder asks your browser for your device's location, to work out the direction of the Kaaba from where you are. That request goes through your browser's own permission prompt, so we never see it unless you allow it. Your coordinates are used only in your browser and, if needed, for a call to a public geocoding API; we don't store your location on our servers, log it, or associate it with you in any way.
We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Some pages may use your browser's local storage purely to remember a preference (like a dismissed notice) on your own device. This data never leaves your browser.
The live video streams are embedded from official public broadcasts (such as Saudi Quran TV and Sunnah TV). When you play a stream, your browser connects directly to that broadcaster's servers, which may apply their own privacy practices to that connection. We don't control or have visibility into that data.
If you enter your email to subscribe for updates, we only use it to send you the updates you signed up for. You can ask to be removed at any time by contacting us.
This site doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children, and doesn't require any personal information to be used by anyone.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
